It's nothing to do with politics, human right and military budget. Just give China your hands and shut up if you want to comment on anything not related to this disaster.

 

It's nothing to do with made-in China products , exchange rate of currency and your loss of jobs. Chinese new graduates are also looking for jobs even though the payment is prety low compared to yours. Just consider it's a huge number of lives that may contain seniors, children, mothers, wives, husbands.....and their pets.

 

We have experienced so much pain and disasters no matter man-made or natural this year and we cannot afford more before OLYMPIC. We don't want your tax dollars but your silent understanding and supporting.

 

Victims are innocent and government should be criticized but not Chinese ordinary people, who have taken on a lot of criticizms that are caused by CCP.  Moreover, we will never be embarrassed and hesitated again to ask for any help whatever you offer.

 

Don't be nervous I'm just a little bit angry with the comments from some of the Canadian people on CTV messege board, but they are just a small amount of them. Thus, I'd like to compare two comments that I picked among all of those in a view to reflect some Canadian opinions. The former is disgusting while the latter could touch your heart.

"China doesn't need any help. They are the most populous nation in the world. They have the largest, most powerful military in the world. They are arguably the most richest nation in the world. 10000 people in China lost in a natural disaster is like an average Joe being struck by a car in downtown Brandon, MB. They have the means to take care of this. And Myanmar's Gov't is just stupid to deny the aid. The US sent blankets, bugnets, and water... ooooooh... big help there!!!Help a country that robs the world of its manufacturing jobs (toys, cars, clothes, etc.). Sure, we can help, but then we get rewarded with cheaper goods that will cause even more job losses at home. I have a heart. It goes out to all those who lost love ones. But my heart also lies in THIS country and if we suffer from disaster, I will be the first one to help them. So don't harp on me for simply telling the truth about a country that has ALL the money, people, and power in the world to help its own!!!"

 

This guy is just one of the peaceful and friendly Canadians. 

"I have lived in Beijing since 2003. I say upfront that China is not utopia, it is far from perfect and yet, it is not the horrible villain many seem hell-bent on painting it to be.

2 hours post-quake rescue workers were en route. 12 hours post-quake literally hundreds were on the ground and digging with bare hands. 24 hours post-quake the Chinese PM was on site, comforting parents who had to watch helplessly as their children were pulled dead from a collapsed school.

Tell me what happened within the first 24 hours post-Katrina again please?

I have spent today answering text messages from Chinese friends from across the country who know that my work causes me to often travel to where the quake hit. They are concerned to know that I am ok.

As a Canadian I have been so very warmly welcomed by the Chinese people. Every school child has learned of Dr. Bethune and told of the long history of friendship between China and Canada.

I have been received into Chinese people's homes too many times to count, been given gifts and made to feel like family.

People are not their governments and natural disasters are not political forums.

I promise you here and now that if a disaster of this magnitude struck Canada (and for Vancouver, my home, it just might) you would find the Chinese people standing ready to help in any way possible. They would consider it to be the height of ignorance and deplorable manners to heap criticism on you during such a disaster.

And before you jump on any further bandwagons to espouse our wonderful western values and human rights, pause a moment and consider what I learned growing up in Canada - for every mile of railway track connecting Canada from coast to coast is a dead Chinese person who lost their lives while building it.

This is not the time to punish innocent people suffering unfathomable loss because of differing political views.

I am deeply ashamed of any Canadian (or human) who thinks and speaks otherwise. Where are the Canadian values I grew up with now? Where are your manners? Where is your dignity?"

告别了北京浑浊的空气和熙攘的人群，在短短的一个月后，再次踏上了Canada这片干净安宁的净土。在经过了两站的中转后，拖着疲惫的身躯到了家，周围的一切还是老样子，只是觉得有点陌生。似乎脑海中还浮现着妈妈温馨慈祥的面容，但实际已隔了半个地球。在Vancouver时收到了妈妈的短信，说我走进海关的样子很潇洒，俨然已是个老留学生了，她似乎看不出我对她对北京的不舍。

 

上飞机看了两页书，注意到坐在左边的男孩也是Pekingnese, 从他打电话满口的“丫丫的”就可断定，他手里拿着一本畅销的网络小说“有多少爱可以胡来”，更让我忍俊不禁。于是闲扯起来，也帮我打发了大部分的时间。我说我在Regina, SK的首府，他说他连SK在哪都不知道，在我连比划带解释之后，问我怎么去那疙瘩上学了，我无语。随后发现当今时代这留学生的生活怎是一个乱字了得，跟他们的生活比起来，Regina简直是无聊至极。但我说我喜欢这种简单的生活，平时不泡吧不唱k不看电视只上网也挺好，冬天堆个雪人夏天喂个鸭子，他用不可思议的眼神看着我，半晌说道：你是北京人吗？我想了想，发现在北京这一个月每天除了吃饭看电视睡觉吃饭就没干别的，一想到明天要逛街啥的头就大了，看着这蒸笼似的天气和被车塞的满满的道路就哪也不想去。从小学同学到大学同学也是各忙各的，主要以加班，旅游为主，让人家放弃赚钱或难得的休息日出来见我真有负罪感。算了，还是在家陪老妈吧。总之，北京就是快节奏，压力大，机会多，这期间正赶上北京奥运倒计时一周年，又让我见识了政府劳民伤财的能力，而且北京市民办奥运的热情也让我震惊，反而像我这样好吃懒做的青年真是少之有少。现在只感觉自己各方面：智力体力心力都跟不上社会的发展了，我怀疑再过几年就该跟同龄人有“代沟”了。这时左边这个小青年说，我真发现跟你有代沟。他告诉我他不喜欢Canada，喜欢北京，但又不得不坐移民牢，我说现在不知有多少人羡慕你呢，比如说我吧。这一贫就是六七个小时，快到的时候我们才感觉有些困了，随后睡去。

 

再次睁开眼睛，已经到Vancouver了，男孩转机去了Montreal. 我走到机场外面，一回头看到机场上方的大柱子（还是什么东西），猛然想起一年前的这个时候我背着二胡在此留下了羞涩的倩影，不禁感叹时间如流水。同时也意识到应该趁着有限的青春多折腾折腾，多奋斗奋斗。

 

再过两天导师就回来了，走之前他对我说希望我回去以后也能continue to work，我显然没有达到他的要求。如果今天晚上时差能倒过来，那就从明天开始好好努力吧。
